Skagit Farmers Supply, a local cooperative since 1934 based in Burlington, WA, serves farmers, homeowners, businesses, families, and communities in the Pacific Northwest. The company offers goods and services through its various divisions and brands, including: three agronomy centers, energy (propane & refined fuels), wholesale & milling (branded as AFCO Distribution), feed (LMF Feeds) as well as eleven retail Country Stores. The company’s brands focus on commitment to provide quality products and services to our customers and community partners.

The LMF Feeds Sales Representative oversees and manages one of the company’s premium feed brands, LMF Horse Feeds. LMF specializes in horse feed and supplements as well as poultry and other backyard animal feed. LMF is served by two mills that manufacture their feed – AFCO Distribution & Milling in Spokane, WA and Farmers Warehouse in Keyes, CA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Utilize strong analytical skills used to manage and analyze opportunities and drive market growth
  • Grow feed brand sales and profitability
  • Develop and maintain a short and long-term forecast and sales plan
  • Establish and maintain annual budgets
  • Oversee domestic and international feed sales
  • Communicate with customers and freight brokers on trucking and ocean & air transportation
  • Answer questions and resolve issues or concerns as they may arise
  • Understand and communicate information regarding company products, services and policies and procedures to customers in a timely manner
  • Work with manufacturing operations to preserve and enhance product quality
  • Manage and maintain the full suite of products within the brand, keeping the offering fresh and relevant
  • Oversee marketing and promotional materials & programs including but not limited to print, electronic media, trade shows, direct mail and signage
  • Work with marketing to execute effective marketing campaigns and generate publicity that increases brand awareness
  • Educate customers and sales staff about products
  • Coordinate events to educate the public and enhance sales
  • Attend conventions, conferences and trade shows as needed; prepare post-event reports
  • Cultivate and maintain strong brand ambassador relationships and partner agreements
  • Review donations and sponsorship requests
  • Exhibit an ability to get along with others
  • Practice punctual and reliable attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field
  • Three to five years of related professional experience
  • Display proficiency in Windows-based computer software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment (includes testing for THC/Marijuana)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Have a proven history of dependable and reliable employment
  • Lift, carry and load 50-pound weight requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Background in equine, pets, or a country/rural lifestyle
  • Display proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)

SCHEDULE

This is a full-time position. 45+ hours per week, typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This is a salaried, exempt position. Annual base salary: $70 - $80k. This position is also eligible to make monthly commissions. Upon meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include:
